Story: The Haunting of Violet Marsh; the title of this piece is 'Not Always Romantic.'
Summary: Kids have trick-or-treating. Parents have 'wait until the kid goes to sleep and take their candy'-ing.
Notes and Warnings: The story I almost never write because these muses are big jerks. I couldn't even tell you what year this is, because of how big of jerks they are (and my brain is refusing to do math right now.)

Damian walked out of the kitchen, looking into Julia's trick-or-treat bucket. "The neighbors are wankers. There's not one decent piece of candy in here."

Sunset glanced at the pile of candy wrappers next to her on the couch. Whoops. "Oh. Didn't you get a few pieces before?"

"What do you mean, didn't I get-" Damian paused, his eyes narrowing when he looked at the couch. "Did you eat all of the good candy?"

Sheepishly, she shrugged. "I didn't know it was all of the good candy?"

"You ate all of the good candy!?"

"Don't you think you're being a bit dramatic?"

"No."

Being attracted to drama queens must have been something that ran in the family. "Damian, we have plenty of leftover candy. Nobody trick or treats at our apartment because of the time we let Zachary hand it out."

"But Zach took all of the good candy out of that too," Damian whined, reminding her horribly of the kids in her class. And Oz.

"Of course he did," she dryly responded. "If you want candy so badly, why didn't you bring your own bag when you took Julia trick-or-treating?"

"...I'll do that next year, but right now, you owe me candy."

For fuck's sake. "The only reason I ate the candy is because I didn't want Julia on a sugar high, and I can't truthfully say I'm sorry for it. To be honest, I don't want you on a sugar high either."

Damian practically pouted when he flopped onto the couch beside her and crossed his arms over his chest petulantly. She couldn't help but be amused by it. "I was the one that went trick-or-treating with her," he muttered. "You didn't even earn any."

"Do you still love me?" she asked, grinning and bumping his shoulder with her own.

"Don't ask me that right now."

Sunset only laughed.
